![]() I edited the translation slightly to make it sound less awkward in one or two places, but it is the mostly the same as last time. I compare the NoA dialogue (left) to my translation from a few months ago (right). I will update this post to reflect those.Įnjoy! Feel free to email or comment with more requests related to FE in general. If I find videos, or when the game comes out, I will be able to compare second encounters as well. Note, this is just the first encounter for now. This is by no means a “they changed everything so don’t buy this game” post! This is just to show how things can sometimes change through localization and is a way to satiate curiosity. I took a look at Lucina’s dialogue, and surprisingly, things changed! I am sure there are reasons for it, but the changes do go a long way of changing the subtle meanings of this brief dialogue. Yesterday, GameExplain released a video of all four “first encounter” dialogues in the English version of the game. ![]() This has caused some to speculate if there will be future amiibo figures being produced on these past characters, or if the currently released ones will get a reprint before or after the launch of Engage.įire Emblem Engage is coming to Nintendo Switch on January 20, 2023.Back in August I translated Lucina’s amiibo event in full. There are also some of these past heroes, like Lyn, who never got an amiibo. Others like Tiki, Alm, and Celica were produced during the release of a Fire Emblem game like Shadows of Valentia or the first Warriors game and are now exceedingly rare. It should be noted that there are only a certain amount of Fire Emblem amiibo that were ever produced, some only being based on their appearances in Super Smash Bros., like Marth, Lucina, and Corrin. A song can also be heard from a past game, specifically the dialogue theme from the first Fire Emblem game on the NES. These costumes seem to be available in the main game itself and can be bought through a ticket system. This is demonstrated with a menu that allows Alear to change costumes, where she can wear Lucina or Micaiah's clothes. However, if players scan a Fire Emblem character amiibo, they will get a costume based on the character scanned, along with a song from the game that they hail from. In a rough translation of the tweet, items will be given whenever a player scans an Amiibo onto the Nintendo Switch's NFC sensor. Fire Emblem Engage however is going to have another way of featuring past characters in a special way, via amiibo functionality. The premise of summoning characters from the past to help the current cast has been compared to Fire Emblem Heroes among other spin-offs in the franchise. These rings contain the spirits of these past heroes, who can support the newer cast with unique benefits that reflect the game they originate from, as well as imbue them with a power known as the Engage form. Many heroes have already been showcased in recent trailers, such as Marth, Byleth, Lyn, Corrin, and many more heroes being spiritual advisors to Alear. This upcoming game is looking to include both new playable characters along with several past protagonists from the mainline games in the form of a mechanic known as Emblem Rings. Nintendo and Intelligent Systems confirm that the upcoming Fire Emblem Engage will have amiibo support, which will grant bonuses to a player based on the figure used.
